The first physical event of the year by ADP took place on March 29 in Kyoto, entitled "Sustainability Design Seminar".
We would like to thank the advisors and designers who participated in person and online, in an event which counted with a total participation of nearly 30 attendees.
The seminar featured two valuable keynote speakers, namely the founders of Cabeza Patata, Katie Katie Menzies and Abel Reverter, and Alberto Lessan, co-founder of Balance Architettura, who shared with the audience their expertise and impressive portfolio on sustainable design practices.
About the Seminar
This seminar was the first physical event held by ADP in 2023, which has also served as a "warm-up" activity to the upcoming "Design Tour Exhibition", scheduled to take place in Kyoto in November of this year. When registrations open, we will formally invite all advisors and members to this exciting tour.
As part of its theme "Sustainability in the Design Field", this conference aimed to provide students, designers, educators, and practitioners a unique platform for learning, exchanging, and exploring new ideas and insights.
We were honored to have counted with the participation of two renowned speakers in this event, namely the two founders of Cabeza Patata studio, Katie Menzies and Abel Reverter and the co-founder of BALANCE ARCHITETTURA, Alberto Lessan.
Cabeza Patata is a multidisciplinary studio created in 2018 that specializes in character design. It has a focus on diversity and female empowerment within a world of playful characters, full of energy and positivity. They love mixing techniques and exploring how new technologies can be applied to traditional methods.
BALANCE ARCHITETTURA is an international Architecture firm based in Turin, Italy. It has been awarded the prize "Young Italian Architecture Firm 2022" by the National Council of the Chambers of Architects. Since 2011 it has been working in the field of Architecture, Work Spaces, Urban Planning, and Big Exhibitions.
This seminar was an enriching and thought-provoking event that hopefully inspired our audience to think critically about their role in promoting sustainability and creating a more environmentally conscious world.
