In January 2019 Ros Hemley was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. As a result, the year saw her on a very different and unexpected path, one of survival.
“I soon realised that being a successful interior designer made no difference in my new world. I was another patient, I had a serial number, a blue gown and I didn’t really know how to be ‘me’ within this reality. In part, I had to begin again”.
This book is an account of Ros’ journey as she danced with the shadow of death. Ros shares her story about making the choice to deal with this illness with courage, dignity and grace instead of fear.
She writes from her personal perspective on how her faith, positive mindset and spiritual practices allowed her to remain grateful and focused on her healing throughout the entire process.
“Miracles only happen when we give ourselves permission to choose from within. My time with cancer has been a privilege, allowing me the opportunity to learn and grow as a person. It is my hope that by sharing my story, others will be inspired to see that regardless of the circumstances, anything is possible”.
COURAGE is not a book about how to heal from cancer. COURAGE is about Ros’ personal journey in making the ultimate choice to live.
