CJW Shanghai
Under the conditions that the structure of building can’t be changed and most furniture will be kept, how to combine the new brand positioning and current conditions were the main issues. First of all, TBDC used the original brick and tiles, piled up the bronze pieces to welcome the customers, combined the bar and stage, connected two floors, and integrated the multimedia wall and the wine desk.

CJW Shanghai
The tiles wall and the chapiter appearance which was extracted from the building of mall strengthened the effect of business space. The second floor was set up as VIP area; the seats had different sizes and were also adjustable, which satisfied the business models in different time. The red floor is based on the eastern culture; the visual effect of multimedia and the synchronization of live shows and the movement created a new interpretation of Jazz.

Drama Hotel
The Drama Hotel in Shanghai is not only a hotel but also the best theater.
Except for changing the traditional business model of hotels, we also set up the design strategy which uses resource effectively and also makes differentiation. -

33 Kinds of Joys of Life
The owners are a couple. Both of their jobs are related to fashion, and they visit modern cities quite often.
Thus we could spend much less time of defining “What is fashion”, but put more emphasis on how to connect this flat with their life concept tightly together.
The point of the design becomes “open” and “free”.
Except for some spaces which need to be hidden, we tried to avoid ceiling and partition walls. Even in the sleeping area which needs extreme quietness, we reduced visual clutter and avoided the traditional way to define the partition by its function.
In this way, the users can do daily works and activities in any corner of this space, instead of staying in the specific place and being limited by space and equipment. -
C25 Plus
We set about changing the appearance of the building and its external relationship to the interior.
TBDC used punched iron plates with high saturation. They were folded from different angles and created a new relationship with the original building.
The design was matched with the signboard and lighting to create a great visual contrast with the surrounding areas in both day and night.
One can see the C25 Plus café sign clearly from a considerable distance. Large windows allowed the interior atmosphere of the café to become a part of its outside appearance.
People passing outside can see in and get a strong feeling about the internal environment. The windows also solved the poor lighting problem. -
This House
The point of designing “This House” is not about the style, but to check and allocate resource, and think about the possibilities of this house in the future.
Possibilities means the relationships between each room, which should be all independent, but also able to connect with each other.
A quite functional closet is hidden at the entrance, and the often-used wearing shoes area locates on the main route. Living room, dining room, kitchen and office are all opened, but they can also be used independently. Kitchen and dining room could be separated or connected by different situations, and the office has the possibility to be an independent bedroom in the future. -
