ED&JO house
2014-2017
The project was to demolish a single-family dwelling and build another one in its place in the centre of V. N. de Famalicão. The house has a 367.20 m2 footprint and a gross area of 408.90 m2 on two floors.
The proposal is on a triangular urban plot of land covering an area of 940.80 m2. The topography includes a 7.60 m slope down from west to east, so the elevations in the corner converge with those on the surrounding roads.

HORA bistro
2019-2020
There was a buffet with tradition at lunchtime there. A pleasant little square, parodaxally surrounded by modest housing, with balconies ornamented by the prosaic habits of the locals, shared by Chef Miguel Reis. A landscape of habits is not enough for the restless spirit and the aspiration of the food lovers - to welcome, to serve and delight.
We found two uncharacteristic commercial spaces, cleaned in white, with a rectangular plant. Thus, animated by half a dozen bucolic motives. Only a diagonal extension hid the toilets. Empty, devoid of intention, this is the image I retain of it. As in food, the intense taste of simple things. One taste at a time. The tradition was renewed.

MAMI house
2011-2016
The plot was shaped a bit like a slice of pizza placed in a corner, and the flat topography did not accompany the slope of the road towards the west. In order to meet the limited budget, we identified the most expensive components of work:
1. Limited the number of bathrooms (two for two floors, one with a bath).
2. Chose energy efficiency rather than finishing materials. We designed a mini-bunker: a reinforced concrete structure, bare on the inside, covered with 8 and 10 cm ETICS on the outside.
3. The same austerity was used in rationalising the available area. In the middle of the ground floor, a 5.2 x 3.7 m block contains the kitchen, the toilet, the stairs (storage space in the garret) and the living room bookcase. The rest of the space was divided without using partitions.

QST house
The house rises from broad blocks of blue granite into the wilderness, like a fortification, indistinct from the supporting walls at the edge of the street. It backs up the old farmland, now transformed into a garden.
Above the entrance, tended towards the east, a wooded room painted in the colour of the gate, of the eaves and of the window frames lay suspended.
The building was cleaned up of picturesque motifs, sheds, shutters and loose exoticism. On the inside, we redesigned each and every constructive piece; the stripped reality was reinvented.

RPFV house, 2018
The pre-existing construction was composed of a house, a threshing floor in the south, and a granary. The house was built with thick schist walls, the upper floor and threshing floor were covered in slate; we then demolished the upper floor, keeping the slabs of slate intact from the lower floor and threshing floor. Just like the old house, the new construction merges into the morphology of the land. The proposal began solving the main plan of the house as a continuous path from the road; that consisted in locating the garage street side, putting an access corridor in the north for access/service from the garage to the storage area and the kitchen. In the south, the access from the street has some steps and an open corridor to the heart of the house, the patio where the entrance is found.

TROFA TOWN HALL
2016 – ONGOING
Rehabilitation and expansion of the former facilities of ‘Indústria Alimentar Trofense’ to house the central municipal services.
The site is located in the south of the urban centre, on the edge of the now-closed railway line route – an area where the city loses density and where the discontinuity of the urban fabric is visible. The site covers 6,200.85 m2. The long, narrow geometry runs parallel to the old railway line and ends in an arch shape pointing northwards.
