With training and experience in Industrial design and great passion for materials, Efrat founded materialscout, a Munich based consultancy that helps market leading companies generate value through creative, competitive and sustainable implementation of materials and technologies.

2017, Efrat co-founded Hyloh, a collective of materials consultants based in NY, Paris and Munich, bringing over 15 years of experience and valuable cross-industry insight. Prior to materialscout, she established and led the Material Technologies department at designaffairs GmbH and was the initiator and founder of iMatter, Israel’s unique Materials Library. By lecturing at various conferences worldwide, teaching and writing articles for professional magazines, she strives to bridge the gap between the materials industry and the world of design.

Efrat sees herself as a Matchmaker and Strategist, connecting materials suppliers to companies seeking materials solutions, making sure these solutions support the growth and development strategy of these companies. Always looking for new materials, ones that are already manufactured aside ones that are under development, as well as people who share the same passion and eat materials for breakfast.
