Bengt was born in Germany and spent his childhood in both Sweden and Germany in a bilingual family.
After training and working as a chef in various countries in Europe and the US and earning a BFA in the Culinary Arts from Örebro University in Sweden, he attended Parsons School of Design in NYC. In 2011 Bengt graduated with an MFA in Industrial Design from Konstfack.
Projects that cross disciplines - consumer electronics, branding, culinary arts and home decor - have been and continue to be the work that hold the most meaning for him. Bengt considers himself a global citizen and has worked in professional leading studios and companies in Europe as well as the US within both the fields of Culinary Arts as well as Industrial Design.
During this time, he has been fortunate enough to lead the design and innovation of products that have received numerous design awards such as several RedDot awards, iF awards and the IDEA Gold Award.
Education being close to Bengt’s heart, he has had the pleasure to be invited as a guest lecturer, speaker and mentor to numerous institutions such as Parsons School of Design, Konstfack, Örebro University Grythyttan and FHNW.
His work has been exhibited at ICFF in New York, Formex in Stockholm and the Swedish Consulate during London Design Week among other places.
In his life Bengt has always been the happiest wherever interesting work has taken him and he is currently a Lead Designer at Logitech based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This MA thesis project is an investigation of fine dining and a prediction of where it might be headed in the future.
Every course features a custom recipe as well as tabletop items, designed to enhance the experience. The Project aims to highlight important issues and trends through culinary storytelling while at the same time offering a balanced and enjoyable dining experience. -

Leeo Smart Alert turns conventional smoke and carbon monoxide detectors into internet-connected smart devices
The mission with Leeo was to create smart, easy-to-understand home awareness product and service. Designed to create practical, commonsense value for people in a way that doesn't insist we rethink how we live or require dramatic investments in new home infrastructure.
The Leeo Smart Alert monitors a home’s existing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and sends a notification if they sound.
Leeo also lets you listen in on what’s happening back home and easily take action to notify local emergency services. Simple to use, the product works by plugging it into a power outlet and pairing it with the free Leeo app. -

The lamps represent the prescience of both suggested and actual movement. Each piece expresses a different take on potential energy. -

Olympic Torch 2012
During my time at BarberOsgerby in London, the studio won a competition to design the Torch for the 2012 Olympics.
Extensive tests and prototypes were created to ensure performance in every condition, may it be wind, sub zero temperatures or moisture to ensure a stable as well safe flame.
Fire extinguisher was always at hand. Safety first.
