Our main business is office spaces, but we are well versed in other fields, such as retail, brand experience centers, showrooms and private clubs.
With rich experience and successful projects ranging up to 40,000sqm in size, we possess both the infrastructure and processes necessary to work smoothly with big corporates. However, we take pride in offering a very personal, individual and flexible approach to service - be it for start-ups or Fortune 500 companies - which is one of the reasons that partnerships with some of our clients have already lasted over 17 years.

XiaoYunLu Office
The office on XiaoYunLu was the first space for WTL Design to own and that I was able to envision and bring to life without limitations. The idea of creating a sanctuary garden space inside the gray city of Beijing was the driving concept behind the project. This manifested itself literally in the color and material palette. Bright green accents in the carpet added a backdrop to the flora in the office making the vegetation more dense and full. Stone textures on the pillars and flooring brought a grounding effect to the garden office, infusing calm and harmonious feelings. Having had a total of 600sqm to work with for the space, there was not a single centimeter to waste. An open floor plan was essential to utilizing the maximum amount of space. The open plan promoted the free communication and pro-collaboration atmosphere we needed as designers to foster our collective creativeness.

Shang Office
Moving WTL’s design headquarters to the newly renovated Shang building was the chance to demonstrate our capabilities as designers, planners and creators. I wanted to be able to show clients what we could do, not just tell them. The office is a testament to what can be achieved with a tight schedule and tight budget. Proving that style, quality and efficiency do not have to be sacrificed.
The design concept was an exercise in elevating the common. From the refurbished concrete floors to the CMU block room dividers, the use of ordinary materials thoughtfully executed renders the office an efficient, effective, and stylish environment. -
Qiu Wei room
When considering the priorities for designing one of the rooms in the 7Shang Guesthouse, my entire focus was on the guests themselves. How could I create a visibly striking space that is at the same time a sanctuary for anyone who would stay here? I pictured warmth and comfort, while I had the materials that I believe embodied these emotions becoming the palette for the room. Soft lighting, wood texture, and small dashes of subtle blue color were infused into the room in a delicate and unobtrusive way.
The plan creates a shell for the guest, with a small entry area that separates the private main space with the public door and hallway. This cocoon effect reinforces the feeling of being welcome and safe, , letting anyone who stays there feel at home. -
HeLiChenGuang-CEO Office
Mr. Li is the CEO of a movie production company who has a sharp eye for both business and aesthetics. I had 60sqm to tell a story about who this man is. The office needed to display his ability to recognize and appreciate smart design, as well as to remain a respectable and distinguished meeting place for business. The room is simple in form and plan but layered and complex in material. The gray of the wall coverings and stone accents symbolize the strength of the office and seriousness of the work that is done here. The delicate lines that trace the walls and handpicked lighting show the attention to detail, pronouncing a sense of sensibility and sophistication. The contrast of colors in the furnishing between bright white and dark black separate the functions of the space without have to define them with physical walls. Finally, adding splashes of greenery bring life and breathe to the office.

iSoftStone Beijing Tower
As often the case in our line of design work, especially in China, we are designing for a relatively short lifespan. The iSoftStone Beijing Headquarter was a unique endeavor, given that the tenants own the building. Therefore the design had to be able to stay relevant for a much longer time and it had to be built to last. To represent iSoftStone in the best way possible the entire design language focus was on both quality and timelessness. I wanted the space to be current and innovative without falling into the trap of feeling dated after only a few years. A way to realize this goal was to focus on materials that feel fresh, but are also durable and classic. By using quality stone, wood, and glass the interior was elevated, it expressed the company culture and will remain valid for its entire life span. Functional details were a major focus to ensure the workability of the space and lighting design was a fundamental part of the overall concept. Being that the entire project encompassed 40,000sqm, the lighting design needed to be efficient and cohesive.

Shang Plaza
The first Shang project marks a major milestone in my design career. This was the opportunity to take my visions for the better workplace and implement it at full scale. Shang is more than a building filled with work places and restaurants, it’s a community. A community that elevates and encourages all its inhabitants.
The concept was simple; flexibility and inclusion. The building and tenants would be changing and evolving over time and I wanted the spaces to reflect those transitions, while providing many opportunities for the people of the building to interact. Public space was a driving force behind the planning of Shang. Large community areas were placed at high priority and were paid great attention to. -
Shang Plaza
The project is simple and efficient and when filled with character has proven to be a great success. I was able to give an effective palette for the tenants to able to fill with their own personalities, creating a woven tapestry of life.

iSoftStone House
After working with them on their Beijing headquarters iSoftStone has become more than a client, but more a member of the team.
The approach was different than a typical office or clubhouse. It needed to function highly on both levels, from the most respectable board room meetings to the relaxed feelings at home. This was an easy fusion when using high quality materials and detailed lighting. They form a seamless connection from one space to another. It isn’t obvious that you are walking out of a meeting room straight into a living room.
A lot of personality from the company was put into the design, making it a fun, dynamic space. When you walk through you feel as though you are experiencing someone’s inner thoughts and passions, filling you with a sense of wonder.
